Do we drink the same water as Dinosaurs? – Students

Welcome to this module!

 

When you turn on a faucet or drink from a water fountain, do you ever wonder where the water comes from?  Did you know that the snow on the ground or the water running off the roads is the same water that goes into the rivers and out of your water faucet?

 

This module will help you understand where your water comes from.  It will show you that everyone, including you, has an effect on the water people drink.  You will understand how little things, like dumping oil in your front yard, can affect the water you drink, the water fish and wildlife need to survive, and even the water supply for people and wildlife miles and miles downstream.

This education module has been put together by the Coalition for the Upper South Platte (CUSP). We are a watershed protection association. Watersheds include all aspects of environmental science: Biology, ecology, chemistry, physics, geology, geophysics, geography, hydrology, hydrogeology, limnology, atmospheric science, climate, climatology, meteorology, natural resource management, engineering, and toxicology. It is the water, in all its cycles, the vegetation, the rocks, the lay of the land (above and below the surface), the wildlife, and the human population.
